Advisory - Nat'l Utility Infrastructure Company

Executive Summary: Provided advisory services to a rapidly expanding National Utility Infrastructure company, with the aim of achieving sustainable and scalable growth. Our primary objective was to assist the company in implementing data-driven insights to maintain tight controls, manage risks, optimize financial operations, and closely monitor key performance ratios. This was critical to meeting the increasing demand in the industry and securing new contracts.

Solution: As a consultant to the CEO and CFO of the company, I advised on various areas such as optimizing procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, ERP conversion and integration, and the company’s transition to a more secure and scalable cloud/SaaS/PaaS platform. Through close collaboration with the CEO, the company established enterprise-level protocols for selecting vendors and customers to minimize risk and prevent overreliance. Additionally, I facilitated the structuring and securing of growth capital financing.

Results: As a result of this engagement the company achieved several positive outcomes, such as substantial cost savings, a wider and more diverse customer and supplier strategy, decreased accounts receivable days, and enhanced reporting capabilities and transparency, among other benefits. Moreover, I made recommendations around sustaining stable and diversified growth, implementing deeper operational controls, and managing risks related to client terms, balance sheet and liability management, liquidity strategies, and owner obligations.
